Frequently asked questions

How do I restore my Premium subscription?

Go to More → Support → Restore Purchases, or tap Restore on the paywall itself. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID, so they carry over to any device signed in with the same Apple ID.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, select Dogsittr, and tap Cancel. You'll keep Premium until the end of the current billing period. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription on its own.

What does Premium actually unlock?

Unlimited clients, and nothing else — the free plan covers up to 5 clients and includes every other feature: bookings, invoices, payment requests, your booking page, walk tracking, expenses and receipt scanning, analytics, the tax estimator, calendar import, widgets, AI owner updates and the emergency screen.

How does my booking page work?

Turn it on from More → Booking Site and you get a public page at dogsittr.com under a short name you pick, showing the services and rates you choose. Owners send you a request from it; you accept or decline in the app. A request is not a confirmed booking until you accept it, and nothing obliges you to. Availability on the page reflects what you have entered in the app, so confirm you are actually free before accepting.

Can I take card payments, and when do I get the money?

Yes, optionally. You connect a Stripe account from the Booking Site screen — Stripe verifies your identity and bank details, and pays you out on its own schedule. When an owner submits a paid request their card is authorized but not charged; it is charged only when you accept. Decline or leave it, and the authorization is released (card authorizations usually expire after about a week, so a very old request can no longer be charged). Stripe's processing fee applies; Dogsittr takes no commission on your bookings. Refunds and cancellations are yours to set and to issue — see the Terms of Use.

Does the app track my location?

Only during a walk you start yourself. Tap Start a Walk and it records the route so it can map the distance and pin each pee and poop; it stops at Finish. Nothing is recorded when a walk isn't running, and the blue status-bar indicator is visible the whole time one is. The Emergency screen takes a single reading to find nearby vets and stores nothing. You can revoke the permission in iOS Settings at any time and the rest of the app is unaffected.

Are receipt photos uploaded anywhere?

The image is stored privately in your account and only readable through a short-lived signed link. The reading of the total, date and store happens on your iPhone — the photo is never sent anywhere for text recognition.

Is the Emergency screen a substitute for a vet?

No. It is there to help you reach one faster: poison-control numbers, the nearest emergency vet, and a chat that suggests how urgent something looks. It can be wrong, and it is not veterinary advice. In an emergency, call a veterinarian or a poison-control service and follow their instructions. Never induce vomiting or give an animal anything unless a vet tells you to.

Why did the AI stop generating?

Both AI features have a daily fair-use limit — 100 generated updates and 30 emergency chat messages per account per day. The app tells you when a limit is reached and roughly when it resets. The emergency budget is kept separate on purpose, so a busy afternoon of drafting updates can never leave you without triage messages at night.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to More → Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and all associated data — profile, clients, bookings, invoices, expenses, walks and routes, booking requests, and every stored image including profile, client and receipt photos. It happens immediately and cannot be undone. Deleting the app on its own does not delete your account, and does not cancel a subscription.

I forgot my password.

On the login screen, tap Forgot Password? and follow the instructions in the email we send you.

Can I import my Rover or Wag calendar?

Yes, optionally. Add your platform's iCal URL and those stays appear alongside your own bookings. Imported bookings are read-only and stay managed on that platform. Dogsittr is not affiliated with Rover or Wag.

Can I get my data out?

Bookings and invoices export as CSV from the Analytics screen, and the Expense Tracker exports a Schedule C summary with an itemised expense file for your accountant.

Is my data private?

Yes. See our Privacy Policy for exactly what we collect, who it's shared with, and how to remove it.
